About The Poesy Club
We run creative play-based events for kids and kids at heart. We believe that play, magic and whimsy nourish our childlike vitality and awaken the creative spirit (and that creativity is kindling for falling in love with life on Earth).
We invite both adults and kids to express, to make, to imagine, to believe in magic, to be silly, to ask questions, to connect, ponder, wonder and say what’s on their mind. Our create with wild abandon, is our human superpower.
In a world fuelled by hard and sad things, we want to embolden the creative children in all of us. Because they are the light bearers. They are who can build a world with love, connection and exuberance.
A Bit About us.
My name is Matisse, I am a mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend, writer, entrepreneur, and lover of life. In no particular order.
Raised on a beach in Fiji, from beading bracelets, to writing stories and silly songs, I’ve spent most of my days creating in some form or another.
I’ve also spent a lot of time trying to understand and contribute to solving some of the world’s biggest problems (from working at NGOs committed to tackling the climate crisis, to a diplomatic agency tasked with fixing economic inequities, to documentaries focussed on catastrophes).
Some time ago, I came to realise that my ability to do the first, with childlike enthusiasm, made me capable of the second.
I think true peace is going to come from continuously falling in love with life and protecting human connection. I happen to believe that joyful expression is nectar for just that.
